Lisa L. Corcoran, Founder
Lisa L. Corcoran established Alternative Financial Services, LLC in 2003 to assist
small businesses and individuals who lack the time or skills to manage their daily
money matters. With integrity and professionalism, Lisa makes sure her clients'
financial responsibilities are met.
The
unusual depth of Lisa's professional experience enables her to offer a broad range
of business and personal financial-organizing
services. Her role as a financial organizer for busy professionals, small businesses
and seniors is complemented by 15 years of experience managing office buildings
across the country. Having supervised building construction and maintenance, she
brings valuable perspective to her clients' real estate investment properties.
Her diversified background provides a solid foundation of superior skills in budgeting,
financial analysis and organization.
Lisa is
certified as a ProAdvisor® for QuickBooks® financial software, versions
2003 through 2011, as well as QuickBooks Point of Sale® 4.0, 5.0 and 8.0. She is one of only a handful of people in Monmouth and Ocean counties
to obtain this prestigious dual certification.
To
balance her passion for numbers and organization, Lisa escapes to the great outdoors,
where she enjoys camping, hiking and kayaking with her nine-year-old daughter,
Emily. She is also a wine aficionado and frequently manages to work wine touring into her vacation plans.
Kathleen Lorenzo, Associate
Kathy Lorenzo has an impressive background in data programming, accounting and bookkeeping. She spent 20 years as a computer programmer, writing and designing accounting systems for companies in various industries. Kathy also worked at several law firms as billing supervisor, where she evaluated and implemented full software and hardware automation.
Kathy is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor® and member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). She has set up bookkeeping systems and procedures and manages monthly bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
Kathy’s proficiency in client training, data conversion, hardware, software and networking make her a well-rounded member of our team. Clients appreciate her ability to explain the financial aspects of their business in easily understood terms.
Married with two children, Kathy enjoys cooking, reading, relaxing on the beach and spending time with family and friends.
Rosemary Rosencrans, Associate
The newest addition to the AFS team, Rosemary Rosencrans has a wealth of experience in the financial-organizing field. In addition to being a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor®, she earned her Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation through the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). She has more than 25 years of bookkeeping experience in a wide range of industries, including: commercial and residential construction, law firms, manufacturing, real estate and development, property management and retail.
Rounding out her accomplishments, Rosemary serves as president of the Central New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW). She was awarded a Human Resources Certificate in 2003 by the Mid-Atlantic Employers Association and has studied office management and principles of project management.
A strong leader, team player and problem solver, she specializes in fiscal “disaster control.” Rosemary thrives on walking into financial chaos and putting her streamlining and organizational skills to work. She is known for taming mayhem and implementing manageable, easy-to-follow processes that even the least fiscally minded business owner can understand. Clients appreciate her logical, sensible approach to their bookkeeping needs.
When not working, Rosemary enjoys spending time with her son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Cristina and dogs Trish and Harley. She also loves to bake, sew, read and travel. Her homemade chocolate birthday cakes, banana muffins and peanut butter cookies are legendary!
